Are you ready to learn how to put your list building on over drive? You are? great, then lets get rolling with my… 7 rules of list building List building is one of the most important areas in your marketing. Marketing is all about list building on or off the Internet. Really, think about it for a moment. Without the ability to build a list of leads you have no business at all. With list building You go get your customers instead of your customers coming to you. It is as simple as that. A poorly written piece of copy on your sales letter or ad-copy, will work if the right people see it. But the best piece of sales copy in the world will not work if the wrong people see it. Knowing how to build a qualified list of leads is like having the combination to the safe at the local bank. Once you have a growing list you will able to access that safe any time you want. Don’t get me wrong, having a list is a lot of responsibility. The first thing you are going to need to do is create trust with your list. Which basically means you need to do what you say you are going to do to begin with. Create great content that over delivers. In other words, You will need to deliver the goods and then some. Never lie to your list. They are not stupid, They will know if your pulling there leg If you mess up, apologize and own up to it before moving on. You will also need to give more than you receive. Content is king on the Internet. By giving your list great content and asking for nothing in return, is one of the best ways to build trust. The first thing you are going to need is a domain name or website. Or at the very least a free blog. You can get one at word press or blogger dot com. These are the two better ones in my opinion. Blogs are very easy to set up. You just fill out a form and you can start blogging in less than five minutes. The only problem I have with the free blogs is that your content is subject of the company. If they want can shut down your blog at any time. On my blog I have set up four ways to capture a lead. I have a squeeze page setup that offers a free e-course. I also have a plug-in called site-closed splash page. This way I can capture a lead even while the site is down and being work on. Inside the site they can register and participate by leaving a comment on posts. This is a great way to add extra content to a subject. The potential lead can register through the RSS feed. Drill this firmly into your subconscious mind: selling is on the back end. You must first build and nurture your own list of loyal and eager readers so you can stop continuously forking out money on advertising. That’s it. Lets recap: You need to give over delivering great content. Remember content is king and always will be. Never lie or exaggerate to your list. If you mess up apologize and move on. Set up a blog or website. This will be your content vehicle. Find useful ways to capture your lead and deliver even more great content pertaining to your niche. Most sales will be made from your list. Not from your site I hope you enjoyed my 7 rules of list building. The 80/20 Rule of List Building This is just an over view of some of the thing you need to do to build a responsive list. I spend 80% of my time working on or for my list. The other 20% is spent marketing to build my list even deeper.
