False Conversion

False Conversion Not long ago I had a friend over to help me get some of my honey dew list accomplished around the house and I ask him if he was still attending such and such church. Now this church has been in a neighboring area for about five or six years and had moved to a new location. Out of curiosity and knowing the good things that I had had heard about this church and how much it has grown in a short time, I wanted to find out more about it. My friend replies to the affirmative, he was still attending but, then he said, “I don’t think that I am saved”. What? You could have heard the record scratch. “What do you mean?…Why don’t you think you are saved?” I ask. “I haven’t felt anything like I did when I walked down the aisle. I still feel the same”. My friend replied. Salvation doesn’t come by feelings. That is exactly what I told him. I also said that if he did not think he was saved then he probably wasn’t and he should talk with his pastor. Friend how is your relationship with Christ today? I want you to know salvation is by faith and faith alone.   True Conversion: It is a work of God.   It is God’s grace upon grace, a free gift from God for all man kind.   But the evidence of conversion is not just your examination of your sincerity at the moment of your conversion.  It is the ongoing fruit in your life. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians said “examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith”.   What did Jesus say about your evidence of conversion?   Mathew 7:16-20 reads…   By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.   Isn’t a tree known by its fruit?   60%,70% of America thinks it is converted, born again and how many thousands of un-born babies are murdered in the womb a day? How many violent murders take place every day on our own soil? Just look at the overcrowding of our prisons. America birthed what 2 cults into the world? Mormonism and Jehovah witnesses.   Not to mention our Nation gave the world pornography.   Yet we profess that we are Christian’s.  I think that static number should be like 10 to 20% or even lower.   Do you know what fruits a Christian should bear?   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,  faithfulness, meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof. If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk. Gal.5:22-25   Instead America is bearing fruits unto death. Rom.7   Friend Are you bearing the fruits described in Galatians? Examine yourself to see if you are in the Faith. What’s Next… In up coming post’s we will take a closer look at our evangelism, the sinners prayer and why so many converts fall away from the faith. Keep an eye out for those. In the mean time sound off by leaving a reply below. Let me know what you really think.

…But not yet

Have you ever been in a church service when the pastor gave an alter call for “whosoever” to come forward to receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior and maybe you had a double white knuckle grip on the pew in front of you because you didn’t feel worthy or embarrassed ? Or maybe you have witnessed to someone that believed the Gospel of the Cross of Christ, yet didn’t want to give their lives to the Lord until they got their affairs in order?
