In Light Of Eternity: Leonard Ravenhill Biography Ravenhill

Leonard Ravenhill

I was first introduced to Leonard Ravenhill, in 1992. My pastor let me barrow “America is to Young to die and Sodom had no Bible”. After reading these two books I brought them back to my pastor and informed him that brother Len’s books step on my toes so bad, that I felt that I truly wasn’t saved. However, I spent time in prayer repenting of all of my sins and asking God for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, which he answered immediately.

My pastor at the time said, I can’t let you read Ravenhill anymore and probably should not  have let you read him in the first place. His message is to strong for a layman. Heck, his message is to strong for most preachers.

That week I purchased every book by Ravenhill that was still in print. To this day I still read everyone of his books once a year.

Leonard Ravenhill’s books in my opinion, are timeless, radical and razor sharp. If any of his books do not bring you to a place of repentance, worship and seeking God diligently through prayer… then I don’t know if you are truly saved.

A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill “a man sent from God” who “appeared at a critical moment in history,” just as the Old Testament prophets did.

Mack Tomlinson, has written the first autobiography on Leonard Ravenhill. This book is over six hundred pages long but well worth the read. Brother Ravenhill, would be proud of Macks work. His life story is just as convicting as his books and sermons.

“What are you going to do when you get to eternity, if you can’t stick in an hour with God down here? In God’s name, what are you going to do in a million year s in God’s presence? Expect some reports from earth about football or something? We are not eternity conscious enough.” – Leonard Ravenhill

Leonard Ravenhill, lived, walk and talked in the spirit of God, because of his discipline in prayer and living In Light Of Eternity <—– Click here to watch a video on the book by author Mack Tomlinson.

“So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. (2 Corinthians 5:9-10, Romans 14:10) excerpt from Leonard Ravenhill sermon “The Judgement Seat of Christ”
