Living In The End Times

End time Preaching

What the Bible Teaches On How To Live In The End Times:

Our first blog post in this new teaching series “Now Do The Work” was an introduction to what God is revealing to us through the Holy spirit and in his word about this crazy time we are now living in and how we as Christians should be preparing and conducting ourselves in this end time hour, in order to not only do the work of Christ, but the greater works that Jesus spoke about in the Gospel of John 14:12.
Today’s post “Living In The End Times” we are going to break down 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-5. That you may see as I did what the Lord is revealing for us in this hour. We are still in the introduction stage of this teaching and maybe so for the rest of the week. You don’t want to miss any of this series. I encourage you to subscribe to the RSS feed at the top right side bar and have each post delivered to you via email as they are published.

End Time Judgement

2 Timothy Chapter 4: 1-5
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Here Paul writing his second letter to Timothy starts off by testifying before God and Jesus. This is a strong charge. For me it is the equivalent to saying: Listen Up!” you’re about to learn something here, pay attention; I am going to reveal a strong truth to you boy, from God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Then he goes on to a future event, the judgment of the saints by saying who shall judge the quick (living) and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom. I want you to notice that Paul mentions here 2 separate judgments’. One at Christ’s appearing and the second at the time the kingdom of heaven is set up on the Earth. Revelation 20:11
In essence Paul is writing this letter not to Timothy but those living in the end of days, that’s you, me and the Church today. God is such an omnipotent, omnipresent God. He knew that when Paul was writing this message that it would be read by all the saints living in the end of days. Actually, I believe we are living in the last minutes of the time of Grace.

End Time Preaching

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke , exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Here in verse 2, Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, lays the charge to us in this hour as to what every born again child of God needs to be doing today. Preach the Word! Jesus, gave us a command just before he ascended from this Earth to Heaven. You can read it in the Gospel of Mark 16: 15-20. We are to be instant or ready at all times with the word of God and our testimony (we will discuss this in depth at a later time), whether you feel like it or not.
We are also to use the word of God to reprove, rebuke and exhort. In 2 Timothy 3:16 says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: you must be willing to preach and teach the Gospel of Christ and do it in love no matter how long it may seem to take.

End Time Behavior of the un-righteous

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
It is my own opinion that we are living in this time period. Many have fallen away from the faith. I have even written about this subject Finally Exposed: Fastest Growing Religious Group In America?
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
If you look at today’s society you will see progressive secularism on the rise in America. The attitude of the majority (I am not including true Christians in this at all) of the people are becoming intolerant of those that stand in their way of their progression. Homosexuality has almost become a house hold word and many broadcast cast companies force this issue down the throats of those who oppose this life style.
The same goes for politics. If you have more conservative convictions, you are considered out of touch with reality. Well excuse me for not being a Commycrate. I can go on and on here, if you live in America, you understand, if you don’t just watch the news.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions , do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Paul is now giving us more instruction on to what we as Christians should be doing during this time frame. In essence the spirit of the Lord is saying that we should preach the word and watch in all things in the natural as well as in the spiritual. If we don’t keep this watch you may miss something important. I believe there is going to be more increase in one on one witnessing of the Gospel. And not only in the work place, but also on the street.
Not too long ago, I as well as millions of Christians received through the Holy Spirit a coming persecution for Christians in America. Paul tells us to endure afflictions. This does not mean to cope with it, we are to endure it! However, believe the word of God, “It will Come to Pass”Amen.
Listen Jesus, said in Mathew 5:10 “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. And again in John 15:20 “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also “.

Do the work of an Evangelist

Soul winning is near to my heart as prayer and bible study. If you are a born again and following Christ, then you should be doing the work of an evangelist. What does it mean to do the work of an evangelist? It means that you should not only be in prayer and study of the word, we should also be witnessing our faith with those that are not in Christ. James said it best when he wrote “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” James 1:22.

What is the Lord telling you about this end time hour?
